I have been a member of the Piscataqua Obedience Club, Inc for 21 years and I am endorsed by the NADOI (National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors). In my studio barn I teach a variety of classes. My specialty however, is Kindergarten Puppy Training (KPT). This class is for puppies 10 weeks to 5 months and focuses on social skills, introduction to obedience, and questions that new puppy owners have. This is a sensitive time between dog and owner that has a lasting effect on their relationship. When a pup is 5 months or younger they are like little sponges soaking up as much information as possible. Also, before 5 months the pup is easier to train because they are not as concerned about being an alfa and testing you like an older 6 month pup tends to be. This is the time to become aware of and use good training habits so good behavior can be instilled. A new dog owner may not realize that their behavior as an owner towards the dog may be instilling unwanted behavior in the pup. Also a person who has owned a previous dog may now own a pup with a different personality that requires a different way of training. These are areas I can assist people with. For all these reasons and seeing people and their pups start off in a positive direction I have chosen Kindergarten Puppy Training as my specialty and dedicate my training to it.
